Mukuba Awards Print

We are part of the Mukuba Art Truts, who are the organizers of Mukuba Awards.

This year the Awards were held at Mukuba Hotel in Ndola on the 24th September. It featured guest stars such Jk, the diomaond brothers, the ever blazing Amayenge Asoza band, Suwilanji and Many other Artists. The participation was marvelous and many local artists were awarded for their hard work and contribution to Art.

CREATE AND CELEBRATE

Art is the mother of creativity and creativity the essence of all progress. Such sentiments were our starting point when establishing the Mukuba Art Trust in 2003.

Artists are able to look beyond the present, capturing whatever ray of light may gleam on the horizon, magnifying it and gloriously projecting it onto others for their joy and inspiration.

Let us empower our artists, giving them a chance to fully express themselves, thus enriching our cities with new artistic buildings and monuments and our temples-churches and museums with drawings and sculptures and carvings and paintings… Let us give voice to the African soul in the writings, give visual form to the riches of our cultural heritage with singing, acting, dancing…

No misery, no social neglect, no hardships can frustrate or discourage the true artists.

It is through visual art, music, acting, dancing architecture… that every Nation preserves its culture. A nation that does not care to preserve its inheritance is a nation without roots and shall be blown away into its own destruction with a slightest wind blow.

Let us appreciate what is ours rather than to think that whatever is foreign is perfect and what is local is just ‘cili fye’ nangu cilecimfya umukonso.

It is with this in mind that our motto is: CREATE AND CELEBRATE – if others do not celebrate my successes then let me be at least happy and celebrate my own successes.
